SPOILERS! Ok, I know it is fiction but it still has to be plausible. This book is all over the place, is she a tough girl who is stupid enough to walk up to a creepazoid and yank a shot gun out of his hands or is she a withering flower who falls apart and cries all of the time. How many times does she actually say "I'll make it right"? I don't know bc I stopped reading it at 30 % and skipped to the end. You can't steal money out of escrow bc you don't control it, an escrow agent does. Is it 6 weeks or 9 weeks? I can't believe how many mistakes I went over in just the first few chapters. I don't understand all of the 4 and 5 stars at all. This was terrible. Sorry.

For the most part, the plot was good. And, boy Howdy, that Gabe was hot! I just love a strong, loyal, and protective cowboy hero. Ella was a strong character, too. She was smart and determined and nearly fearless when it came to bringing down the murderer of her sister. The villain was one of the nastiest characters I've read about in some time. So why the so-so rating? I really, really hate when characters go all "We can't be together. / It just won't work. / We're too different. / She (or he) is just too good for me." There was so much of this in the last of the book that I just wanted to scream. The other thing that bothered me (and flat ticked me off!) was the way she dealt with her uncle after his arrest. Offering to help get him a lawyer? After what he did? Just plain stupid!! Other than those things, I liked the book a lot. I am intending to buy the next one in the series.

Wow! I really love this author have read all her books and the Hunted series was my favourite, im so glad that this series carries on from there and one I definitely recommend. This book is about Elle who lost not only her parents but also her beloved twin sister who was murdered and was a witness too that murder. She flees NY, and lands herself in Montana to search for clues why her sister was murdered. There she meets Gabe who got stood up at the altar by his ex fiancé Stacey a few years before and an ex Rodeo Rider who made alot of money winning to save for the Wolf Ranch he was fixing on buying, but then lost all his hard savings to an evil uncle of Elles who ripped him off. These two meet and both come together to help each other out as they both have something in common "The Evil Uncle" who did them both wrong. Along the way they both develop feelings for each other and fall in love but is it enough? As she's a rich city girl and he's just a Rancher. I love this new series and cannot wait for the next book. You have to read the Hunted series by Jennifer Ryan as it is just as good too before reading this series. As Gabe is the older brother to Caleb who is married to Summer these 2 charcters have a novella of their own but they are both in the first book to "The Hunted" series called "Saved By The Rancher". I love this author and her books! I would definitely recommend this series to read and The Hunted series. If you are a huge fan of romance, suspense, action then this is the series to get, you won't be disappointed!😀
I enjoyed this tale. It had the right mix of murder angst and romance to hold my interest.

Ella Wolf has been living the high life in New York City (but not as hare-brained as the paparazzi make her out to be), waiting a few more months until she and her twin sister, Lela, turn 25 years old and meet the terms of their parent's will so they can take over the running of the family mega business.

Then the unimaginable happens and Ella flees to the safety of Wolf Ranch in Montana to try to figure out how to stay alive plus bring her sister's murderer to justice.

On her first day back in Montana, she is saved by rancher Gabe Bowden and the sparks immediately start to fly between the two.

Great characters, beautiful setting, and dastardly villains - I enjoyed it all.
It seems lately the books I read have too much fluff shoved in and not enough of a story line...that's unfortunately the case with this book.
I loved Gabe and Ella's characters...Ella was a strong, independent woman with a soft underbelly that she wasn't afraid to show...Gabe was the perfect combination of Alpha male and loving partner knowing exactly when to step back and let Ella lead...but...there was ENTIRELY too much internal monologue...it felt forced like the author was just filling space. The suspense part was interesting but fell short without the action and adventure you see in some suspenseful romances. The love scenes tried to be sexy but felt amateurish...no real heat. And finally, the climax wrapped up in less than a chapter...no hold your breath moment no real danger just here's the evidence we need let's go get the bad guy...oh AND he's arrested with no incidence...BORING! Could have been so much better.

I'm not saying I'll never read this author again, like I said the story was enjoyable, I'm just going to try some of the other authors on my To Read list before I do.
