The most important to thing to say about The Assassins is that it's 5 individual short stories (which are sold separately) connected by overlapping characters. The first one is currently offered free, the second as well if you subscribe to the authors' mailing list. But the remaining three will cost extra.The blurb mentions that the first installment is only 56 pages. The enticement at the end of the first story promises that the subsequent pieces will be twice as long.
While the story is fairly well done, I would not have downloaded such a short story had I paid enough attention to notice the way it's being marketed. Subscription to another mailing list just to be able to read a bit more does not appeal to me.

Read the first chapter and saw no point in continuing
Absolutely disgusted with the first few pages. Could not force myself to read it. " they " call it "adult content and language" . I call it filth. Unless. You are smitten with the " f bomb" and illicit sex, don't get this book, even if it is free.
I liked the book; except, when you get to the end it's not the end. You're hooked into buying the next episode (this one was only about 80 pages). OK, I bought the next episode. It was longer but the same up sell at the end. Being nickel-n-dimed pissed me off. I stopped. I have no idea how it ended and I don't care. Liked the plot (as much as I saw), the character development, pace of the story. Good book -- chicken s***t author.

I really didn't think too much of this story. I probably won't be buying any more of this story line.
good read
A good read. Fast, good action,great characters. The reader learns quickly the nature of the two main players and their world. A contrast of personality,of age,and of attitude. Two killers meet by accident,or maybe not... their story begins. What's next?
