I absolutely loved this series because you knew it was coming to an end and there would be no more twist. Book authors that go on for 10 to 12 books in a series always end in a twist so the read knows it and the twist ends up being okay but not climatic. The author did an excellent job at developing the characters and it was hard to lose a couple of the main characters, but that's part of a great story. Worth the time and effort to read and you get the entire story in one purchase. Nothing was super human, the main character didn't stay up for two weeks straight or make a 2 mile rifle shot...it was down to earth. Plenty of twists to keep you interested. The battles were pretty good, but very quick. The final battle was about 5 pages long and I expected it to be longer, but there are times battles are over-described. Worth the the time to read this excellent story.Product details

Last Stand The Complete Four - Book Box Set ( A Post - Apocalyptic, EMP-Survival Series is a good read! It seems silly but the only thing that bothers me was how a 12 year old boy was in high school. Lol ! Good Job!
It was a well written series that kept me interested the whole time which is not easy to do.I think it is believable and a little scary how it mirrors tensions in US right now. Anyone who likes books about society after a catastrophe will love it.
I enjoyed this box set mostly. It would have easily been a 5 star series except that I felt the peppers angle at time really distracted from the story. It was fine at the beginning but as the story went on, the tips started to distract from what was going on. It was like you had to pause from the story to get in the tip on how to survive in this situation. I would have also liked a better epilogue but that's just me and does not subtract from the overall story.
Just an awesome series! Great information, wonderful characters, felt like a realistic scenario. I also liked that all of the books were included. Had a hard time putting it down!
In the beginning it started as other books in this genre normally do. The characters are well crafted and if I feel like I become one of the family then it's a great read. I did and it is. There were parts in the last book I have to say I just flat skipped right on over. All that crap about f09slrps9204 or whatever the title of the military gun or tank was. I do not care! Leave that crap out! But if your a military person then you will probably love that part of the book with all the jargon. I liked the book but it would have been better, at least for me, without it.
I like the series. Easily able to "see" this action in my minds eye. A living , breathing John Mack makes a good story. Mr Weber spin a good story.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series of books. It is refreshing to be able to read books where every other word is an f-bomb. I hate it when I purchase a book only to find this type of language throughout between the covers. I spent 23 years in the Marine Corps beginning with Vietnam and ending with Desert Storm and I didn't encounter as much foul language as I find in most apocalyptic novels today. And most of the women writers that I've read are far worse than the men. I like to read books I can in good conscience recommend to my kids and grandkids.
